How we check every job
Every listing on Remote1st goes through the same checks before you see it. This page explains them in plain words, so you know what a listing on our board means and what it does not.

What we do differently
We do:
- Every job shows where the employer can hire from, and is checked for scams.
- Apply links go straight to the employer's own apply page.
- Full descriptions are free.
- Pro is €89 a year.
Others do: On other boards, some posts are "listed on behalf of a partner company", so you cannot see who the employer is.
Can they hire from your country?
Every job shows where the employer can hire from: the USA, the UK, Canada, Europe, or worldwide. We read the location rules in the ad and label the job, and jobs limited to one country say so.
Searches for the UK or Europe drop jobs that cannot hire people living there. US-only roles are flagged before you spend time on an application.
Always confirm country and time zone rules on the employer's page before you apply.
Remote, not hybrid
Jobs marked hybrid or on-site, or whose ad asks for regular office days, are filtered out. If an ad says remote but still needs an office, it is labelled "Office required".
Scam checks
Every job gets an automatic scam check. We check that the apply link goes to the employer's own domain or a known hiring system such as Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby or Workable; that the ad has no upfront fees, payments or Telegram/WhatsApp interviews; and that any salary range is realistic.
Jobs that pass every check show a green Scam-checked badge. Anything suspicious is marked Caution. Never pay to apply for a job.
Freshness and expiry
We read employer career pages every day. Closed and expired listings come off the board, and the newest jobs are shown first.
New jobs are shown to Pro members first for 72 hours. After that, the company and apply link are free for everyone.
Direct employer apply links
The apply button goes straight to the employer's own job page or hiring system. There is no middleman: we do not re-post jobs "on behalf of a partner company", and we do not screen your application.
Your CV and your data
CV match scores run in your browser. When you use an AI CV tool, your CV text is sent only to AI providers hosted in the US or EU, with no retention, and is used only to produce your result.

How we make money
Remote1st Pro (new jobs 72 hours early, matches and alerts) and paid job posts from employers. Browsing, full descriptions and applying are free. A job's grade is never paid for, and paid posts are labelled Featured.
