Editorial and data policy
This page sets out the rules we follow for every listing and every number on Remote1st. If something on the site breaks one of these rules, tell us and we will fix it.
Where listings come from
Listings come from employers' own career pages and the hiring systems they use, such as Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Workable, and from employers who post with us directly.
We only list employers that can actually hire you. Other boards pad their counts with repeats and middleman posts. We drop repeat copies of the same role, and we never post jobs on behalf of an unnamed partner company: every public job names the employer.
What we change, and what we never change
We add labels: where the employer can hire from, remote or not, the scam check result, salary when the ad states one, and the date we first saw the job.
We never rewrite an employer's requirements, pay or job title, and a job's labels or grade are never paid for. Paid posts from employers are marked Featured.
How our numbers are counted
Every count on the site, such as live jobs, jobs added this week and employers hiring, is read live from our job database. We do not type numbers in by hand and we do not round them up.
A live job is one that is open, has passed our checks and has not expired. Each role is counted once. Jobs in the 72-hour Pro head start are counted separately and labelled as such.
Where a figure is an estimate, for example a salary range worked out from a small number of listings, it is labelled as an estimate next to the figure.
When jobs come down
We re-check employer pages every day. A job comes off the board when the employer closes it or it passes its expiry date, and its page then tells search engines the job is gone.
Your data
We collect only what a feature needs: your email for job alerts, and your account details if you join Pro. CV text you paste into an AI tool is sent to an AI provider hosted in the US or EU to produce your result, with no retention, and we do not sell your data.
You can unsubscribe from any email in one click, and you can ask us to delete your data by email.
Corrections
If a listing is wrong, closed, misleading or looks like a scam, email info@remote1stjobs.com with the link. We check every report, fix or remove the listing, and correct any page that repeated the mistake.
