Senior Software Engineer, Core Infrastructure

ABOUT NOOKS.AI http://Nooks.ai: Nooks is an applied AI lab building the Agent Workspace for GTM. We design AI agents that operate across the full sales action set, from account strategy to prospect research and outreach. Building 0→1 has never been easier, but selling at the speed of the market remains the last frontier for AI. Our mission is to 10x every seller by automating the busywork so they can focus on what humans do best: closing deals. Today, over 1,500 customers run on Nooks, including Notion, HubSpot, Cursor, and Rippling. We’ve raised $70M+ from top VCs like Kleiner Perkins, which made its first sales-tech investment in over a decade with us. Since then, we’ve tripled ARR each year for 3 years running and grown a high-caliber team turning the art of sales into a scalable science. ABOUT THE ROLE The Core Infrastructure team makes the rest of Nooks fast. We're going from one product to many — Sequencing, Dialer, Agent Studio, Coaching — and our data layer, observability, and developer tooling have to scale with that. The dialer alone runs ~100M calls a week, and reps spend 4+ hours a day in the product. We're hiring senior engineers to own the systems everything else is built on. WHAT YOU'LL DO • Build infrastructure that makes every product team faster. Data models, APIs, observability, CI/CD — pick the area, own it across the company. • Keep the rails on while we go multi-product. Capacity, reliability, cost. Set the standards other teams build against. • Make foundational technical decisions. What's the right shape for our data access layer when we're querying across calls, prospects, and accounts? How do we attribute infra cost to product teams cleanly? • Mentor others on the team. Run code and design reviews, and pair on the hardest problems. YOU MIGHT BE A STRONG FIT IF: • 5+ years of engineering experience, with depth in distributed systems, databases, or developer infrastructure. We don't care which exact stack. • Production experience scaling systems through real growth (10x, 100x), and the scars that come with it. • Strong opinions, held loosely, about what good developer experience looks like inside a fast-moving product team. • Comfortable being the engineer everyone else calls during an incident. • You make the rest of the team faster. • Based in San Francisco, excited to be in-office 3+ days per week. AT NOOKS YOU'LL ENJOY • A world-class team. Around 40 engineers, mostly former founders or founding engineers and veteran builders from places like Applied Intuition, Scale, Airtable, Citadel, and Jane Street. Thirteen Olympiad medals across the team. • A platform being built for the first time. Nooks was one product a year ago. The infra you build now decides what the next four products feel like. • Top-of-market compensation.
