Senior Backend Engineer, Core Services

Apify is a marketplace of ready-to-run tools for AI that automate work on the web. Thousands of Actors get web data, generate leads, monitor social media, track competitors, and integrate with existing apps and agents. Actors are created by a global community of builders who earn from them, while Apify manages infrastructure, billing, and distribution. Learn more at apify.com http://apify.com. Join us to help people put the web to work. Apify can find missing children https://blog.apify.com/fighting-child-traffickers-with-technology/, protect consumers from fake discounts across the EU https://blog.apify.com/how-web-scraping-ai-and-the-eu-have-come-together-to-sweep-away-fake-discounts-in-europe/, and feed data to AI chatbots https://blog.apify.com/intercom-customer-support-ai-chatbot-web-scraping/. WHAT THE GROUP IS RESPONSIBLE FOR: • Running Actors end-to-end, from the Start button in the Console to the container or microVM running on our servers. • Storages where the Actors save their progress or output, from the underlying databases to the frontend, rendering the storage contents. • Actor Standby https://docs.apify.com/platform/actors/development/programming-interface/standby, our way of deploying Actors as real-time, synchronous services. • Apify Proxy and Unblocker, our services to avoid being blocked while accessing the internet • Our public API (the framework, not each individual endpoint). • Our Console (the framework, not every feature in it). • The AWS infrastructure on which all the Apify platform apps are deployed. • The deployment process of those apps. You’d be joining a small cross-functional team with other experienced hackers focused on backend services in this department.
