Onboarding Associate

About the Role General Medicine is hiring an Onboarding Associate to support clinician onboarding during a period of rapid growth. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role focused on making the transition from offer acceptance to first shift feel seamless — the kind of experience that sets the tone for everything a clinician does with us after. Founded by the team behind PillPack (acquired by Amazon Health), General Medicine is a national, technology-enabled care delivery system built to make practicing medicine — and joining the team that practices it — as seamless as the best consumer experiences. You'll own onboarding workflows end to end: guiding clinicians through documentation and system setup, keeping timelines on track, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks between offer and first structured clinical ramp. You'll partner closely with Recruiting, Clinical Operations, and People Operations to get there. This role is ideal for someone highly organized, responsive, and motivated by giving clinicians a first impression worth remembering. Responsibilities • Own onboarding coordination from offer acceptance through start-date readiness • Guide clinicians through onboarding tasks including systems access across Rippling, Qgenda, Zoom, Slack and other internal tools in Rippling, including payroll setup, tax forms, and policy acknowledgements • Initiate and monitor background checks through Checkr, following up on outstanding requirements • Ensure all compliance documentation and required credentials are complete before start • Manage onboarding communications so clinicians always have clear timelines, expectations, and next steps • Track onboarding progress to confirm clinicians are ready for independent practice • Maintain accurate, organized employee records across systems • Escalate delays or issues proactively to keep onboarding on track • Identify small process improvements that make onboarding faster or smoother for clinicians Requirements • 1-2+ years of experience in HR, People Operations, recruiting coordination, or administrative support in a healthcare environment • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Clear, professional written communication • Comfort working within structured systems and workflows • Experience with platforms such as Rippling, Ashby, Checkr, Athena, or similar tools • Ability to manage multiple onboarding timelines at once • High reliability, follow-through, and accountability Who Thrives Here • You want a direct hand in shaping a clinician's first experience with General Medicine • You're energized by building a structured, welcoming onboarding process during a critical growth phase • You want hands-on exposure to People Operations systems and healthcare workforce operations • You take pride in clinicians feeling prepared, supported, and confident as they start caring for patients General Medicine is an equal opportunity employer and considers applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, genetics, or any other basis protected under federal, state, or local law.
