The role in a nutshell: As an IT Specialist your role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the company's IT infrastructure and supporting all Chainguardians. You'll be responsible for managing and troubleshooting various IT systems, providing empathetic, detailed, and prompt technical support to employees, implementing/ensuring compliance with security, and collaborating with the entire company. This role requires strong communication skills, self-discipline, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders across many different time zones. What you’ll do: • Prioritize excellent customer service to employees; quick response and proper and accurate feedback on technical problems • Be our on-site support for our London office by maintaining our network, A/V, and supporting/troubleshooting our IT assets • Work with vendors to order, manage, and ship hardware worldwide, and serve as the local point of contact for London-based vendors • Manage employee lifecycle through onboarding new Chainguardians with tools, systems, and hardware, collaborating closely with Chainguard's HR/Recruiting team • Receive requests through the IT ticketing system, via email, or Slack for assistance on computer-related problems including hardware, software, peripheral, and related equipment; determine severity of problems; troubleshoot, resolve, or escalate to appropriate technical staff as appropriate • Provide on-call support (some holidays) What we're looking for: • Experience in IT Support, ideally at a remote or startup environment • Experience with MacOS and Linux • Experience with mobile device management (MDM) • Experience configuring and troubleshooting with Neat Hardware • A strong understanding of IT Security best practices and a desire to improve them • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences • Some travel required • Ability to be in our London office 2 days a week (near Farringdon station), with availability to come in daily if ever needed • Proactively self-motivated and self-starter — comfortable taking action independently with minimal oversight • Strong ability to cycle between working independently and in a team environment • Motivated and eager to participate in growing and changing environments (often wearing "many hats") • An eagerness to grow and build a company that's solving an important problem Base Salary Range £47,501 — £55,665 GBP About Us We live and breathe our company values: • We are customer obsessed — We focus on delivering solutions to our customers that create value and make their lives better. • We have a bias for intentional action — We prioritize, plan, try things, and fail fast. • We don't take ourselves too seriously (but we do serious work) — We are solving an important problem which takes focus, but we also like to enjoy the journey. • We trust each other and assume good intentions — We're transparent with decisions to empower team members to make well informed decisions.
