Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Secure Access team. The platform operates primarily on-premise, with one component residing in the cloud. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with engineering leadership experience who can work across infrastructure and application development while balancing reliability for existing customers with the delivery of new features. What you will do: In this role, you will lead a team of Software and Platform Engineers responsible for the Secure Access application throughout its lifecycle, including its integration with our on-premises and cloud environments. You will set the technical direction, manage priorities and delivery, and mentor engineers across both disciplines. Required Skills: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience • At least three years of direct engineering management experience • At least five years of hands-on experience in platform, infrastructure, or software engineering • Experience managing virtualized on-premises infrastructure, particularly VMware vSphere/ESXi • Experience with VDI or remote-access infrastructure • Experience deploying and operating workloads on a major cloud platform, preferably GCP • Working knowledge of Linux administration, containers, and CI/CD pipelines • Ability to break down a product vision into workable engineering tasks • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to nontechnical stakeholders Nice to Have: • Experience with networking technologies, including VLANs, routing, firewalls, VPNs, load balancing, and DNS • Experience extending or migrating on-premises workloads to GCP • Experience with automation tools, such as Terraform and Ansible • Experience working in regulated or security-sensitive environments, including FedRAMP, CMMC, or SOC 2 • Knowledge of identity and access management protocols, including SSO, OIDC, and SAML Benefits at Babel Street (just to name a few...) • Health Benefits: Babel Street covers 85-100% monthly premium costs for Medical, Dental, Vision, Life & Disability insurances – for you and your family! • Retirement Plans: Babel Street offers both a Traditional and Roth 401(K) with a very competitive match. • Unlimited Flexible Leave: We trust our employees to manage their own time and balance their personal and work lives. • Holidays: Babel Street provides employees with 12 paid Federal Holidays • Tuition Reimbursement: We are committed to investing in our employees.
