Deployment Engineer, Network

Meter’s ambition is to evolve internet infrastructure into a utility by building a product that caters to stakeholders from Customers, ISPs, Partners, and Technicians. Every utility starts with a network design – and that’s where you come in. To achieve our mission, we must ensure our network deployments are designed for performance and scale, as well as executed flawlessly. As a Deployment Engineer, you will be responsible for translating customer requirements to fully designed wireless networks using Meter’s in-house tooling. You’ll lead all technical decisions throughout the design and deployment phases, and support our customers through network turn-up and validation. Your expertise will directly impact the efficiency of our deployments and the satisfaction of our customers, enabling Meter to scale and meet the growing demand for reliable internet infrastructure. YOU WILL HAVE AN IMPACT BY • Designing performant and resilient networks: You will create wireless network designs using Meter’s in-house toolkit. • Leading critical technical decisions: You will lead technical network decisions during design and deployment phases until network go-live and validation are complete. • Supporting network turn-up: You will troubleshoot and support critical devices and network functionality during the network turn-up phase, ensuring a seamless experience for customers. • Supporting On-site Installation: You will visit complex customer sites as needed to support installation and validation, ensuring successful deployment. • Providing real-time wireless escalation support: troubleshooting RF issues, power settings, SSID configuration, and AP placement during live installs (this is SLA-bound and reactive) • Collaborating with cross-functional teams: You will work closely with Deployment Project Managers, Sales Engineers, and Product Engineering to design the next generation of Meter’s deployment and networking products. WHO YOU ARE You thrive on the complexity of enterprise wireless deployments, balancing RF design, customer environments, security requirements, and the diverse devices that rely on the network. You have the project management discipline to produce multiple wireless designs at once without dropping the ball. Clear communication, disciplined documentation, and a builder’s mindset enable you to bridge teams, create structure, and translate frontline insights into scalable tools and product improvements. WHY METER? The internet runs the world. Every email you send, purchase you make, video call you join—it’s all packets flowing through networks. But those networks haven’t changed for decades. They’re brittle, complex, and surprisingly hard to set up in an enterprise space. We started Meter to build better networks. We had to build everything from the ground-up: designing and building our own enterprise hardware, intuitive software, and streamlined operations to deliver great outcomes for our customers. Today, we build and deploy these networks at scale. Ambitious companies and enduring institutions like Bridgewater, Lyft, Reddit, rely on Meter to keep their thousands of employees and locations online and productive. Our bet with Meter is simple: we will all use the internet more than we do today. We believe we have the definitive networking stack in place to enable business to do so as seamlessly and reliably as any modern utility.
